Cherry Crumble Pie

This is the easiest pie to put together yet it tastes like you slaved in the kitchen for an hour making it.  Sometimes, I myself need a fast and easy desert and this one is most definitely one of my favorites.  May not look real pretty but boy oh boy is it good… Almost Orgasmic you could say!!!!  If you love Cherries, your gonna love this pie!!!  Let me know what ya think… Enjoy…

What you will need..

1                                  9″  Frozen Deep Dish Pie Shell, room temperature

1   21 – 22  oz.         Can of Cherry Pie Filling

For the Crumble Topping..

1/3     C.                      Brown Sugar

1/3     C.                      Sugar

1         tsp.                  Cinnamon

1/4     tsp.                   Salt

1 1/2   C.                      A.P. Flour

1/2      C.                     Unsalted Butter, cold and small cubed

Preheat oven to 400 degrees.  Line a baking sheet with parchment paper, place your thawed pie shell on it, get a fork and poke holes all over it.  This will prevent your crust from forming air bubbles in it while your pie is baking. Now, pour the can of Cherry Pie Filling right into your prepared pie crust and set aside.

Now for the yummy, YUMMY, stuff..

In a medium size bowl add your flour, brown sugar, sugar, cinnamon and salt. Mix this all up with a whisk till all incorporated together. With a pastry cutter or a couple of forks if you don’t happen to have a pastry cutter, throw in the small pieces of very cold, cubed pieces of butter and with that brute strength that we all have, start cutting that butter into the dry ingredients  until it all looks more or less like mashed little white beans covered in sugar and flour. LOL   Seriously, how else am I supposed to explain the way it’s supposed to look!  LOL

Now, doesn’t that look yummy!  Grab that Cherry Pie sitting on the counter over there and start piling all this goodness on top of it.  Even if you think it won’t all fit, trust me, it will!!

Try not to cover the edge of the pie, just keep piling it up in the middle…

Now, stick that baby in the over, bake for 35 -40 minutes.  Just until it starts to turn golden brown and the fruit starts to bubble out the sides, or out the middle, either way doesn’t matter, it’s all good.  Take it out of the oven, set it on a wire rack and let cool for at least an hour before serving.

Warm or cold right out of the fridge, it is delicious!!!  I asked my boys if they wanted vanilla ice cream or homemade whipped cream to go with it.  Whipped cream it was!!!  Well, we didn’t get that far. LOL   The pie lasted 2 days, as do most sweets in this house. LOL
